Lala Berlin is using International Women‘s Day on March 8, 2020 as an opportunity to launch its collaboration
with ALAMA and the associated jewellery collection. ALAMA is a cultural project founded in 2016 to promote
the handicrafts of indigenous Masai women in Tanzania and was co-founded with the NGO Africa Amini Alama.
A union of 35 women develop unique jewellery using traditional methods. Each piece of jewellery is handcrafted
by one woman. 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale are returned to Africa Amini Alama and are used
for health, social and education related projects at the foot of Kilimanjaro.

These earrings are hand beaded by a Maasai woman and is traditionally worn by Maasai women and men. The earring hooks are handmade out of 935 sterling silver. Each jewelry piece is delivered in a traditional Maasai pouch and comes with an information card on which you can see a picture of the woman artisan who made your jewelry, her name and the meaning of the purchased jewelry piece.
