Face-to-Face: Marie Jedig
The Danish it-girl switches from PR to blogging everyday. Her iconic hair stays the same.
  • So far this lovely women was known under her blog name vildekaniner.com. A name which means “wild rabbits”, referring to a Danish song her mom used to sing for her when she was little. But now the white blond it-girl and Marketing and PR coordinator releases her posts about fashion on mariejedig.com.

These days her focus is on furniture. But whatever she is inspired by, she keeps her style. This was already honored by the “Modeblogprisen 2014″ for the “Best visuel Concept” as well at the ELLE Style Awards 2014 called “The Blogger Challenge”. And finally we met her for a talk …

  • What do you exactly do for living? I blog about fashion, trends and life style at mariejedig.com and work part time as PR professional for the Danish jewelry brand Jane Kønig.
  • So how long have you worked in fashion? I've been blogging for seven years, but two years ago I started realizing that blogging could actually make a living for me. I've always loved dressing up and I've been playing theatre for 15 years, so I guess my passion begun when I wore my first costume as a child.
  • Which fashion item have you owned the longest? A pair of vintage Dr. Martens that I bought when I was 14. I haven't worn them for years - but maybe it's time to put them on again soon.
  • What may be the weirdest thing in your handbag? I'm a completely candy addict and I always have some kind of candy with me - and the more childish and disgusting the better!
  • Any desired piece you're saving money for right? I'm in a furniture period at the moment - and right now I'm saving for the CH25 chair by Hans Wegner. Also, I think I need a blue bag, I just haven't decided on which one I should choose yet.
  • What associations do you have with lala Berlin? Easy, feminin, light and comfortable. And great materials too - which is really important to me.
  • What is your biggest trend for the current season (SS15) and the upcoming one (FW15)? The 70's really gets me this year. For SS15 I will be wearing scarves and hairbands a lot, and for FW15 I will cover up in suede and flared jeans.
  • How would you describe your own style? Comfortable, simple and minimalistic. I've changed a lot through the years, and I now dare to wear more colors and prints - and then again, I'm a big fan of silk and cashmere.
  • If you didn't worked in fashion, what other job would you then have? I would probably be playing musical or theatre! Or maybe something with children. Maybe even combined?
  • What is your best styling tip? Do never wear something that you do not feel comfortable in! There's so many great designers and items out there - buy only the pieces you absolutly love. And a personal styling tip - do not buy anything unless you already got at least three items in your wardrobe that matches.
  • What’s your favorite place in Denmark/ Copenhagen? I hang out at Statens Museum For Kunst a lot to clear my mind or to get inspiration. Elsewise, I like the Italien restaurant Fiat at Nyhavn, where I've created some great memories with my friends through the years. It is very important to me to see my friend everyday because my job as a blogger gets quite lonely, so I eat out a lot in Copenhagen.
  • What’s a local product you really like? Any brand that we should discover? Stegt flæsk med persillesovs (haha, I do not even know the English word for that dish?) - I'm a foodie - and this is my ABSOLUTE favorite dish in the whole world.
